FIRST LESSON HERE?
Please drive through to the large car park area in front of the large outdoor arena (please do not park immediately by the entrance gates).
On your first visit please arrive at the site 15 minutes before your lesson is due to start with your rider registration form and the correct clothing. Please look for the staff based in the office however at the weekends the office is not manned and the staff will be based within the riding school yard building so please look for a member of staff who will be wearing hi-viz staff coats or tabbards. The stables are opposite the large outdoor arena and have a red BHS sign on them.
DRESS CODE
A solid short boot with a good heel and flat sole is required but you can borrow our boots if required. Trainers or wellington boots may NOT be worn whilst riding. Shoulders and arms must be covered at all times during lessons/hacks. Jodhpurs, leggings or a comfy pair of trousers, no shorts or cropped trousers. No jewellery except watches and wedding rings. No eating or chewing gum whilst riding.
Up to standard hats must be worn for your ride. We have hats which can be used at £4 a time but must be booked in advance.
Gloves are to be worn when you ride (or lead) and can be purchased over the phone and put to one side for you to pick up when you come and ride.
NOTICE BOARD
Our notice boards contain details of what is happening around the school, as well as listing children’s activities during the holidays. Many of the activities book up quickly so ensure you take a look at the board every time you come to us, as well as checking our website or joining us on Facebook. The green notice board is located on the side of the indoor school next to the viewing area.
Hat use charge
The school has a hat use surcharge of £4 for use of our hats. Please book your hat at the time of booking your lesson.
Following the changes to hat regulations, staff will need to check your own hat to ensure it meets the current standards.
Choosing a horse for your lesson
Clients are welcome to request horses for their private lessons (we ask that you provide at least two that you are happy to ride, these horses can be subject to change at times). Group lesson horses are allocated by staff - this is in order to distribute the workload in a fairer way to the riding school horses and keep all the horses fit and healthy.
Thank you
