 SHOW JUMPING SHOWS 

At Fletchers Farm Riding School, we hold Show Jumping shows between April until September each year. These shows are aimed at encouraging riders to try Show Jumping and are also an ideal outing for young horses or riders looking for a friendly and supportive environment to compete in.  
 
 
April 2019 - Vaccinations update - Please note that we highly recommend your horse is vaccinated within the last 6 months but at the very least your horse must be up to date with their annual vaccinations to come to the site. All vaccinations must be emailed to us at reception@fletchersfarm.co.uk when entering. Spot checks on passports will be carried out on the day. Please ensure you have your horses passport with you, thank you for your co-operation.

28th April, 30th June, 29th September plus a Christmas show in December 
 
 
Show Jumping shows – Our shows are normally held on Sundays with classes from poles on the ground upwards. Full details can be found below. 
 
Unaffiliated Novice Xmas Show Jumping 2019 
Saturday 14th December  
A fun, encouraging show aimed at novice riders. 
Starts 09:30hrs 
 
Class 1 Raised poles class – One round against the clock. Riders on the lead rein welcome. *Small Christmas treat for all clear rounds* 
 
Class 2 30cm (1ft approx) Cross Poles – One round against the clock. 
Riders on the lead rein welcome. 
 
Class 3 40-45cm (1ft.4in-1ft6 approx) – One round against the clock. 
No lead rein allowed but an assistant allowed in the ring. 
 
Class 4 Dog and Dobbin – 45-50cm (1ft.6in-1ft.9 approx) - Rider jumps round a course of jumps, then dog and handler have to jump the same course. Fastest, clear pair wins. 
 
Class 5 50cm-60cm (1ft.9in-2ft approx) – Two phase. 
 
Class 6 Novice Christmas Cracker Pairs – 60cm-65cm (2ft.-2ft.3 approx) – First rider jumps round a course of jumps, passes baton to second rider to then jump round same course. Fastest, clear pair wins. 
** A minimum of four pairs required for this class to run** 
 
Class 7 75cm-80cm (2ft6 approx) – Two phase. 
 
Class 8 Holly High Jump – starting at 90cm – There will be two fences for this competition. One spread which will remain at 90cm, the other, an upright, will be raised in each round. Riders must clear both fences in each round in order to continue and whoever clears the highest fence round is the winner. 
 
Classes 5, 7 are two phase (if clear round jumped, jump off will follow immediately). 
 
Rosettes 1st to 4th place, more if entries warrant. 
 
Entries 
Riding school clients must pre-book by noon on Wednesday 12th December using an entry form. Fletchers Farm Livery Members/External riders can enter on the day. 
 
Classes 1, 2,3,4,5,7,8 - £8 FFRS Liveries/External riders, £20 Loyalty Scheme Riding School Clients (includes Horse Hire) £23 Non-Member Riding School Client (includes horse hire) 
 
Class 6 - £12 per pair FFRS Liveries/External riders, £30 per pair Loyalty Scheme Riding School Clients (includes Horse Hire), £36 per pair Non-member Riding School clients

Parking is available on the hardcore area opposite the main entrance to the farm. Warm up indoors and classes in our large outdoor arena. 
 
Show Jumping Rules 
The course will be made of a mixture of poly/schooling jumps. 
No entry will be accepted without the appropriate fee. 
The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry, vary the order or composition of, or cancel any event in this schedule at any time. In the event of the show being cancelled due to weather or similar, messages will be left on the number provided on your entry form and on our facebook page. 
Classes may be split or amalgamated at the organisers' discretion. 
All course heights are approximate. 
Correct riding dress should be worn and hat with a fixed harness to a minimum standard of PAS 015 must be worn by riders at all times. 
Judged under BS Rules, however the Judges' decision is final. 
The organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructors or the organiser, officials and stewards. 
 
If this is your first show competing please note that we allow assistance or leading in the classes indicated on the schedule page. Please remember horses can behave differently in the ring to normal lessons or schooling at home and if you would like assistance please ask. Competitors enter classes at their own risk. 
 
These shows are designed to be encouraging. Please choose appropriate classes for your experience and we would politely ask that you move up classes if you have won a number at a particular level. 
Please use designated warm up area only. Do not stand on the track where others are riding and cause an obstruction. Please ride responsibly and observe manage etiquette. 
Please do not re-enter the warm up arena once you have finished your jumping round. 
No lunging allowed on the show ground. 
All lorries and horse trailers to be parked in designated area. Please tidy hay, droppings and mess from the parking area before leaving. Parking can be restricted if the show is busy so please park close to the next horsebox or as directed by a show steward. 
 
Please ensure that dogs are kept on a lead at all times. 
Photographs of class winners / placed riders may be printed / placed onto various media including the FF website, Essex Rider, the FF Facebook page. If you do not wish this to happen you must notify us in writing.
